| Philip B. Kalin - Senior Vice President – Senior Living
Mr. Kalin serves as the Co-Division Leader of the Senior Living Division at MacKenzie House with a focus on project and asset management. Phil brings to MacKenzie House more than 25 years of senior management experience in both the non-profit and investor-owned sectors. This experience is aptly applied to the development of new systems to support MacKenzie House’s rapid growth.
He is the former President and CEO of Rose Health Care System in Denver where he improved Rose’s ranking from 186 to 16 among Columbia’s 300+ hospitals. Phil also held senior positions at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland and Henry Ford Health Care System in Detroit.
In the late 1990’s, Phil was the co-founder and CEO of CustomMed Solutions, a health care technology company sold to Phycom Corporation in 2000. CustomMed was the first U.S. company to demonstrate full automation of medical authorizations and referrals. His achievements included raising venture capital, forming a management team and creating a sales pipeline. Phil was also the first CEO of the Denver Campus for Jewish Education. In July 2001 he helped acquire and develop the group’s 22-acre campus. Phil has been involved in numerous real estate development projects ranging from hospitals to medical office and ambulatory surgery centers.
Phil earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Michigan. He has one daughter and currently resides in central Denver.
